I've got another couple of trampoline lessons coming up (assuming I don't knock myself out in the first 5 minutes of class) and I'm a bit concerned about my lovely lady humps.
As I previously mentioned, I am not ready for a juggy audition and need to find a way to strap them down for fear that they'll bounce into harm's way. The sports bras I have aren't doing the trick and, if I'm remembering correctly, they are max support ones.
So I'm turning to you dear friends for support (har har, get it?) and help. What do you suggest I use to keep the humps in check? Is there a miracle brand of sports bra I don't know about? Is there a trick that's well known to everyone but me? I've got to figure something out or else my trampoline career might be ending soon.
Sooo when I was going to run a marathon and had a similar problem I was directed to title nine (I think that is the correct name) apparently they are great. I never went though... Other than that I've found the kind that are more like regular bras (ie do up in the back, not slip over your head) are better at holdin' the sistas in.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Get a much, much smaller sports bra. The one that's supposedly my size (XL) still leaves my jumblies a-bounce. The one that's a medium works like a charm.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could help you but I still have the same chest I had when I was eleven and have given up hope of ever being proportional in relation to my wide hips. Fab.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that though. Duct tape seems promising. Although tranny-esque.
okay, since i have huge bazoos i feel the need to offer my advice...two sports bras, the first one a little smaller than what you would wear and the top one the next size up or so. thats what i did for tennis. its beautiful. AND, dont get the ones that have the cups in them, just get the ones that are flat across the front...and smush them in there.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely check out Title9. And I mean go into the store (there's one in Palo Alto) and tell them you need a super strong bra for trampolining. They won't laugh at you - they'll give you a whole bunch to try on. My experience has been that the underwire ones that look like something your grandma would have worn are better than the shelf-types. And yes, get it smaller than you might normally.
ReplyDeletea breast surgeon who did breast reductions for big-o teenagers recommended one made by enell, which titleninesports carries. yes, i agree, what an awful source for a recommendation.
ReplyDeleteokay, I have absorbed all of your advice and as I'm afraid duct tape will hurt when I remove it (I like having nipples), and a smaller sports bra might hinder my ability to breath, I think I'll try Title 9 tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the advice!
This is my favourite sports bra ever:

I orginally bought it at Title 9 but not sure if they still carry it. But it's perfect - underwire for support, racer back so the straps stay in place, pulls over your head for lots of support, and then a clasp to wrench it in even tighter. Love it.
