subtle change

Recently I've received a few emails from people that read this blog of my tiny thoughts and it seems people don't like to register to leave comments. I know it's a pain in the ass, but as the most nontechnical person to ever have a blog, I've been at jparks' mercy for comment moderation.

At least that's the way it was until the solution to my problem dawned on me: Just ask him to change the way comments work on your blog! Holy crap, I can do that! I can string words together in sentence form and ask my husband to fix my blog for me! I have the power!

So, we are now entering a new beta mode of Formation of Me. Comments will run differently for a little while or forever, depending on how much spam I have to moderate. If you've been itching to leave me a comment but never felt like registering, here's your chance.

Let the delurking begin!

  1. I don't know what magic JParks performeed, but I enabled Akismet on FashionBS about a week ago and since then I haven't had any spam to moderate and according to it's stats report, it has killed 171 spam comments on its own. I'm running WP as well.

  2. Ahh, freedom! I have often wanted to post some wry comment, but been too damn lazy in the past. Watch out for my amazing* and sublime* commenting some time in the future.

  3. Yes Regan, but do you knit? Inquiring Austinites want to know ... and it's been awhile since you've done a shoe post. I shoe shop vicariously through you. Your shoe shopping provides a valuable service in keeping some of us out of trouble.

  4. Hi Pam!

I started to knit a pretty zig zag scarf a few months ago. I was trucking along with it when I hit a road block. I took it to my LYS for some help and the girls there messed it up even more (it wasn't their fault). Now I need to unravel and start over and this has frustrated me so much I've set it aside. Out of sight, out of mind. It's now sitting in a box on the top shelf of my closet.

Don't encourage me to buy shoes! I'm trying to go slow, which is incredibly challenging as the spring shoes are coming out and are so damn cute. Damn you spring shoes! Daaammmn you!

  5. I envied you and your protection against the meanies, ballsy enough to make people sign in to comment! I say this because I had meanies on mine, and now I am ashamed to say since they've left I neglected my page a little bit. (not 'cause I liked the mean comments, but rather becasue they were really mean! and I don't want more really mean comments)

  6. I still have a layer of protection, all comments have to be moderated. I don't know what I would do with a mean comment though, and I'm hoping I don't have to find out.
